BARANGAY Ginebra coach Tim Cone said he is happy for Greg Slaughter after the big man announced that he has signed up with the biggest international basketball agency in the world on Friday.
At the same time, the two-time grand slam mentor said he is unsure on what the effect of the move will be on the stint of the 7-foot center with the Kings.
“I’m very happy for him, but I don’t know what that means regarding his return to Ginebra,” Cone said in a curt reply on Friday when asked how the change in agent can impact the status of Slaughter in the PBA.
The 32-year-old Slaughter announced on Friday that he has signed with BeoBasket, owned by Serbian lawyer and agent Misko Raznatovic, who also serves as agent of NBA players Nikola Jokic and Boban Marjanovic.
The pronouncement came just a week after the Barangay Ginebra star made it on record that he wants to become part of the Gilas Pilipinas team that will represent the country in the 2023 FIBA World Cup.

Slaughter has been intensely training in the U.S since the lockdown period, hooking up with Gary Boyson at the DME Sports Academy in Daytona Beach, Florida.
He left the country in late January after claiming that there was no offer for a new deal from Barangay Ginebra after his contract expired.
Barangay Ginebra management however, maintained a tender offer was submitted to the PBA Office just before the 30-day grace period lapsed. By doing so, the franchise retained the rights to the University of the Visayas and Ateneo alumnus.
While Slaughter bared returning to Barangay Ginebra remains an option, his signing up with an international agent could also open the doors for other possibilities.
Like anyone else, Cone will just see how things will have to unfold.
“We’ll just have to wait and see,” said the Barangay Ginebra coach.
