EVEN Jeff Chan admitted he already chalked Rain or Shine's game against Phoenix Wednesday night as a loss for the Elasto Painters, and meant no rest for them during the Holy Week.

As coach Caloy Garcia told them prior to the game, a loss against the Fuel Masters would mean the team practicing for the duration of the Lenten season.

"Actually nung kanina lamang sila ng 10 points, iniisip ko na yung practice namin, e," a smiling Chan said.

But the veteran guard personally willed his team to comeback and scored a stunning 96-94 win in their PBA Commissioner's Cup match at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Chan finished with a team-high 24 points, including 14 in the payoff period when the Elasto Painters battled back from 11 points down.

He went on to score the game-winner by completing a three-point play in the final 2.4 seconds that sealed the deal for Rain or Shine.

"Basta kami ang sinasabi namin sa huddle one stop at a time, one basket at a time. Ayun nakuha sa tiyaga," he said of the amazing RoS comeback after trailing by as much as a 71-54 deficit.
