CHICAGO - It’s highway robbery masquerading as a legit trade.
And the fear is, pending approval, the PBA will become the getaway driver.
The proposal sending Titan Ultra guard Joshua Munzon to TNT for a Season 53 draft pick and an unheralded rookie is as lopsided as lopsided can get.

These are the kind of stunts that further alienate the fans from the league and it happens at a time when the PBA is still basking in the afterglow of a very successful Commissioner’s Cup that had no height restrictions for imports.
Buzzkill. Momentum stopper.
Trust the PBA to shoot itself in the foot.
Munzon is an All-Star, a proven commodity. Trading him for a pair of unproven players is like giving up an authentic Hermes Birkin bag for a pair of cheap purses from Divisoria.
HORRIBLY ONE-SIDED.
I am told that Munzon wants to play elsewhere and that Titan Ultra simply wants to oblige rather than keep an unhappy employee.
But the Giant Risers should get more than just scraps for a star player in his prime. Granting Titan Ultra got a future first-round pick in return, but the fact that it's a TNT draft pick means it will be nowhere near the Top 5.
Also, Titan Ultra, less than a year after acquiring the NorthPort franchise, needs to win now, not in Season 53. Who knows, there may be no Titan Ultra to benefit from a first-round pick three years down the road.
But most importantly, TNT should not be allowed to exploit Titan’s desperation.
“I don’t think that trade would be approved. That’s poverty,” a league source told me.
Unfortunately, the PBA doesn’t necessarily wield the same wisdom.
