CHICAGO - While appearing on the “No Cooking Show with Snow Badua” last night, the affable ringmaster dropped a bombshell.
TNT import Bol Bol is reportedly pulling in $120.000 a month as the PBA Commissioner’s Cup reinforcement for the Tropang 5G.
Sounds like a long tale, embellished at best and a made up figure at worse.

But Badua has an army of “kuligligs” that are everywhere, culling precious info that range from harmless to salaciously sensational.
And they are almost always right.
So I did my due diligence.

Everyone I asked in the MVP group echoed the same familiar tone that Bol’s salary details are “tightly-sealed.”
Industry giant Wasserman Sports no longer represents Bol but I asked somebody from the agency if $120k a month was fair market value for the wiry wing.
The answer was a firm yes.
In fact, when compared to other leagues, $120k a month is light.
In the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA). foreign players typically make between $1 million to $3 million a year while ex-NBA stars such as Andray Blatche and Lance Stephenson command around $2.5 to $4 million annually.
LUCRATIVE MARKET.
According to BastketNews, former NBAers make an average of $600,000 a season in the Japan B.League while the elite guys sign deals that “exceed $5 million a year.”
In his six-year NBA stint, Bol made $10 million in salaries, according to BasketballReference.com.
His last salary, with the Phoenix Suns last season, was for $2 million or $173,000 a month.
So why would he navigate 5,000 miles to take a huge pay cut, right?
Well, maybe Bol is eyeing the jackpot.
“Five months bonus yun sa TNT pag nag-champion,” a PBA head coach told me on Tuesday night.
Which means potentially $600k if the “human cheat code,” as coach Yeng Guiao aptly describes Bol, leads TNT to a successful title defense.
Not a bad deal for a few months' work.
