ANTIPOLO CiTY - Not even a winning record could save the job of CJ Aiken at Columbian Dyip.
Aiken was given the boot by the team in favor of Euro League veteran John Bailey Fields III despite going 2-1 (win-loss) in the three games he played for the Dyip in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup.
The team said ‘family issue’ on the part of Aiken prompted the Dyip to look for a replacement.
But as early as Aiken's first game with Columbian, coach Ricky Dandan already admitted the jury was still out on the import.
Fields, 30, is already in the country and was officially measured at 6-foot-8 and 1/8 at the PBA office on Wednesday.
He is fresh from a stint with the Aries Trikalla Basketball Club in Greece where he averaged 10.9 points and 8.1 rebounds.
