CARL Bryan Cruz and Mac Belo shrugged off their loose-ball scrap that got a little bit physical on Saturday in Alaska’s 88-84 win over Blackwater in the PBA Philippine Cup.
Far Eastern University teammates for three years, the two stretch forwards found themselves in a battle for the leather after the Aces’ Cruz grabbed a rebound and fell.
Belo tried to snatch the ball away from him in the play that got a bit too physical midway through the payoff period, resulting in a double technical foul.
“Ah wala yun.
Belo echoed Cruz’s claim.
“Lambingan lang naming dalawa 'yun,” the Elite rising star said. “Syempre, gusto naming manalo yung bawat team namin. Nasobrahan lang sa aggressiveness.”
Cruz, though, was surprised that the slight commotion resulted in technical infractions after the referees didn’t see his gesture to call for a timeout after hauling down the rebound.
