NLEX coach Yeng Guiao bared that player movements will start as early as within the next two weeks, revealing they’ve already had exploratory talks with some teams.

The outspoken mentor earlier hinted that trades are bound to happen for a Road Warriors side that underperformed in his first conference at the helm – and he reiterated his stance on Sunday night after the team’s disappointing Philippine Cup campaign ended with a 90-80 loss to Ginebra.

“We're exploring and some teams are exploring with us,” Guiao admitted after emerging from the dugout following another long meeting. “Siguro in the next two weeks, there will be changes.”

“I've been very open with the team and I told them they can expect some radical changes,” he added. “Wala namang samaan ng loob … They know that everyone is a candidate for being part of the radical solutions that we plan to implement.”

Guiao reiterated that he has given most of his players the opportunity to prove their worth to be retained on the team, but admitted some won’t make the cut.

The Road Warriors’ lack of maturity showed on Sunday when they squandered a huge 17-point lead in the first half and surrendered to the Gin Kings by double digits as they wound up losing all but two of their first 11 games under the multi-titled Guiao.

“I don't think you can be last place in the conference and not make any radical moves,” Guiao said after a team he coaches finished last in a conference for the first time since 2000 - his first year with Red Bull. “As I've said, there will definitely be changes.”

“(But) the last three months, I don't think they've been wasted,” he was quick to add. “I think we needed that time to know what kind of a team we really had, to really know what we need.

"Although painful and disappointing, if we haven't gone through this, we will not really know what is required for us to find solutions to the problems.”

Apart from trades, Guiao said they also already have a shortlist of import prospects for the Commissioner’s Cup.

“We have two or three, but until we have definitely acquired their services, ayaw muna naming sabihin at baka ma-preempt pa at may mangyari pa,” Guiao said. “Some have played here before, some are new faces.”

“Maybe we'll try to get him here the first week of February para maaga kami makapaghanda with the import,” he added.
