CLIFF Hodge has been suspended for one game and fined P100,000 for his dangerous hard foul against Zavier Lucero in Meralco's game against Magnolia in the PBA Philippine Cup last Wednesday.
The sanction was handed down after Hodge appeared before PBA commissioner Willie Marcial on Friday following a summon.

Also sanctioned was Magnolia assistant coach Mon Jose, who was also suspended for one game and fined P20,000 for headbutting Hodge in the aftermath of the incident involving Lucero.
A league statement said Marcial advised Hodge and Jose to keep their emotions under control and warned that a repeat of the incident, "will be dealt with severely."

Peplays and a SPIN.ph photo showed Hodge holding down Lucero in a head lock after being stripped of the ball by the young Magnolia big man.
During his appearance before the commissioner, Hodge maintained that the hard foul against Lucero was unintentional.

With the decision, Hodge will miss Meralco's game against Blackwater on Wednesday at the Ynares Center-Antipolo.
Jose, on the other hand, will also not be around for Magnolia's clash against Rain or Shine on Sunday.
