FIL-AM sophomore forward Cliff Hodge is expected to miss Meralco’s match against Air21 on Wednesday after spraining his right ankle in the Bolts’ 89-94 loss to Rain or Shine E-Painters last week.
Hodge played just 24 minutes against the Painters after a bad fall in the second half. He said on Monday his right ankle is still badly swollen, preventing him from joining the Bolts’ practice.
That should deepen the woes of the Bolts, who are off to a 0-2 start to the season after beginning the campaign with a buildup that has raised expectations among fans.
Although doubtful for the Air21 match, Hodge is hopeful he will be fit enough to play when the Bolts take on unbeaten Barangay Ginebra (2-0) and its 'Twin Towers' of Japeth Aguilar and Greg Slaughter on December 3.
The hard-working Meralco forward is averaging 8.0 points and 9.0 rebounds along with 2.0 blocks for the Bolts.
