COMING off impressive performances in the Fiba Basketball World Cup, CJ Perez and Robert Bolick will open hostilities in the PBA Governors’ Cup as their teams face separate opponents in the PBA Governors’ Cup Sept. 20 at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Perez’ Dyip will face Alaska in the first game at 4:30 p.m., while Bolick’s Batang Pier will take on Rain or Shine in the conference opener.
During the World Cup, Perez and Bolick showed why they belong in the national team as they put on a good showing against some of the toughest teams in the world.
Now they are back with their mother ballclubs and look to use their experience for their campaign in the season-ending conference of the pro league.
Magnolia opens its title retention bid when the Hotshots face Meralco in the second game of a doubleheader on Sept 21 at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
Kiefer Ravena will also make his PBA return on that same day when NLEX goes up against Phoenix Pulse.
Barangay Ginebra, meanwhile, opens its Governors’ Cup campaign against Alaska on Sept. 22 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, with Rain or Shine and Columbian opening the day’s hostilities.
San Miguel, TNT, and Blackwater play their opening games on Sept. 25 following their campaign in the Terrific 12, with the Beermen starting out their bid to claim the Grand Slam with a match against Phoenix Pulse.
