CJ PEREZ he couldn't help but feel down following Columbian's 94-72 defeat to Alaska on Wednesday, especially after seeing how much chances the Dyip wasted.
"Nakaka-frustrate talaga pag nagmi-miss ka ng free throw. Mahigit 20 yung na-miss namin. Siguro yun yung factor kaya medyo nakalayo na sila," rued the top overall pick.
The Dyip missed 23 freebies, which allowed the Aces to wiggle free and break the game wide open in the second half.
Columbian made only 14 of its 37 shots from the charity stripe, with Perez making only half of his eight shots from the 15-foot line.
That's why for the Lyceum product, his statline of 15 points and five rebounds meant nothing as the Dyip fell for the third straight game to drop to 2-4.
"Nakaka-frustrate syempre," he said.
Perez, though, knows that these little things are the ones Columbian must find a way to fix if it wants to make a run to the playoffs of the 2019 PBA Philippine Cup.
"Kailangan naming harapin yun. Sa game ng basketball, dumarating talaga yun na mananalo o matatalo. Ang kailangan lang siguro namin mag-regroup. Pag mag-focus kami sa mga kailangan naming gawin, kung saan kami nagkukulang, magiging maayos kami," he said.
Columbian gets a 20-day breather to prepare for its Feb. 27 date against Meralco at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
