GLOBALPORT import CJ Leslie said fans can expect a lot more from him even after his 33-point, 14-rebounds, four-block performance in the Batang Pier's 100-89 whipping of KIA Motors on Tuesday.

Leslie, a last-minute replacement for original choice Rod Benson, showcased his quickness and perimeter game as he played a lot better than he did during the team’s two tune-up matches over the past week.

“I try to only get better, adjust when I first got here because time zone-wise, it was real rough on me,” said Leslie.

He credited teammates Stanley Pringle and Kelly Nabong for making the transition to the local league very easy for him.

“Stanley and Kelly, those guys did a good job welcoming me, actually all teammates welcomed me in, making me feel right at home,” he said.

“I know it’s not easy to play here in a different country, and very physical. I have a lot of bumps and bruises, but I’m fine. Everybody here’s pretty friendly,” added the former North Carolina State standout.

Even GlobalPort sophomore guard Terrence Romeo is pretty impressed with Leslie's high basketball IQ.

“Para sa akin, 'yung import namin, marunong siya magbasa eh. Di niya gaano pinipilit. Kumi-kickout siya saka isa siya sa leaders namin,” said Romeo, who was a recipient of several passes from Leslie.
