CJ Cansino sat out Game 2 of Meralco’s PBA Governors’ Cup quarterfinals series against Barangay Ginebra owing to a sprained ankle.
The rookie wingman was in street clothes and wearing a walking boot when he showed up for the game Saturday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Cansino said he sustained the injury during the series opener last Thursday, which the Bolts lost, 99-92.

“Nung last game namin,” said Meralco’s first round pick in the last rookie draft.
He’s not yet certain though, if he’ll be able to be ready and play in Game 3 of the best-of-five series, which the Bolts now trail 0-2 following their 104-103 heartbreaker.
Cansino said the swelling on his ankle has to subside first before the walking boot is taken out.
“Pabababain muna yung maga tsaka siya tatanggalin,” he said, raising doubts about him playing in Monday night’s game.
The injury to Cansino, playing in his first ever PBA playoffs, added to the manpower woes of Meralco.
Veteran center Raymond Almazan is seeing action despite a back injury that sidelined him for several games while Allein Maliksi and Norbert Torres still have to see action in the playoffs.
