CJ CANSINO has been dealing with a fractured nose that requires him to wear a mask in the PBA 50th Season Commissioner’s Cup semifinals.
Cansino sustained the injury in Game 1 of the semifinals against TNT when he was inadvertently hit in the nose by TNT guard Jordan Heading.

“Nung Game One, tinamaan ako ni Heading nung fourth quarter. Nagka-fracture siya,” said Cansino.
Cansino said he needs to wear the mask so as not to aggravate the injury which could lead to surgery if not taken care of properly.
“Parang three weeks ako naka-mask kasi kapag tinamaan uli, baka ma-operahan na. [Iniiwas] lang namin para hindi lumala,” said Cansino.
The mask seemed to have an effect on Cansino’s game as his numbers went down to 8.3 points in the semifinals after averaging 16.1 points during the elimination round.

Cansino only scored five points in Meralco’s 87-76 win over TNT in Game 2, and had eight on 2-of-11 shooting in their 77-75 loss in Game 3.
Cansino admitted it was an adjustment for him playing with a mask, but expressed confidence that he will eventually get used to it.
“Tingin ko naman masasanay na ako,” said Cansino.
