CHRISTIAN Standhardinger has been fined P20,000 for the flagrant foul 2 infraction he committed against Calvin Abueva in Monday night's Game 3 of the PBA Philippine Cup semifinals between San Miguel and Phoenix.
The fine was meted shortly after Standhardinger was summoned at the PBA Commissioner's Office on Tuesday afternoon.
Abueva wasn't spared either as he was penalized for P15K for flashing the dirty finger several times in front of the camera.
Both players however, escaped suspension.
Also slapped with a fine worth P5,000 was Phoenix big man Doug Kramer for the flagrant foul 1 administered against June Mar Fajardo.
Standhardinger and Abueva got entangle midway in the second period as the Phoenix forward tried to steal the ball away from the San Miguel sophomore, who was posting up.
The 6-foot-7 Fil-German however, hit Abueva with his left foot while they laid on the floor. Later on, he was caught hitting the Phoenix star on the groin as he stood up to get back on defense.
Standhardinger said the incident was an 'accident,'
Even in the absence of Standhardinger, the Beermen were able to rally back and win the highly-physical Game 2, 92-82, for a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven series.
Game 3 is set Sunday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
