CHRISTIAN Standhardinger and Calvin Abueva are expected to be meted fines following the incident that marred Game Two of the San Miguel-Phoenix PBA Philippine Cup semifinals at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Monday.
Standhardinger has been summoned at the Commissioner's Office on Tuesday afternoon to explain his side after being called for a flagrant foul 2 penalty that led to his outright ejection.
Abueva escaped being summoned but is likely to be penalized for flashing his middle finger several times on national TV.
The usual fine for a flagrant 2 is P20,000.
The defending champion Beermen came back to win the highly-physical game, 92-82.
And the incident between Standhardinger and Abueva served as its highlight, boiling over at the 6:10 mark of the second period and Phoenix leading 35-26.
The two big men tangled as Abueva tried to steal the ball while Standhardinger was posting up.
As the two laid on the floor, the Fil-German sophomore accidentally hit Abueva in the face as they tried to untangle their legs.
Standhardinger was later seen kicking Abueva in the groin area as he was about to stand up and get back on defense, a move caught by the referee who was standing just in front of the two men, resulting in an F2 call and the ejection.
Standhardinger initially called it a flop but apologized during the post-game interview for his act, which he said was just 'an accident.'
