CHRISTIAN Standhardinger credited his big game to sheer hustle, deflecting credit to teammates as San Miguel continued to roll in the PBA Governors Cup.
The Fil-German forward said the Beermen are simply starting to find their rhythm as a team, and expect to be even better as June Mar Fajardo rejoins the squad.
“I just hustled the ball and my teammates did a great job in putting me in the right situation,” said Standhardinger, who put on a show with 21 points and 22 rebounds as San Miguel overcame NorthPort.
“We’ve been playing without June Mar in the last nine games so obviously nothing changed in my mindset and the whole team.”
“I think, we did a great job in compensating his big absence and we can’t wait to have him back so we’re gonna be a better team,” he added.
Standhardinger is pleased the Beermen have started to play steady, getting to 5-4 after a shaky start that saw them replace AZ Ried with Kevin Murphy.
“I think we did a great job and we really figured out how to play with each other,” he said.
“It took adjustments because first of all we had to learn how to play with me, then we had to play with AZ and AZ got out so we got to play with Kevin so we had to adjust again,” he added.
