CHRISTIAN Standhardinger said he is glad to see San Miguel get back to its usual form after its stunning upset loss to Columbian on Sunday in the PBA Philippine Cup.
Standhardinger said the Beermen quickly moved on from their loss to Columbian on Wednesday and focused on the task of trying to beat Ginebra for their next game.
The Beermen were successful as they beat the Gin Kings, 99-91, on Sunday at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
“I don’t know about wake-up call. I’m just happy that we played very good tonight. We played hard and if we play hard, it’s hard to beat us,” said Standhardinger.
After that upset over the Dyip, the Beermen bounced back, taking a lead as many as 23 points while averting a collapse following a Gin Kings comeback thanks to timely shooting from his teammates in Chris Ross, Marcio Lassiter, and Von Pessumal.
“It was good. You saw everyone play hard and like I said, if we all go hard, it’s very tough to stop us. But we have to guard hard and we have to adjust and sacrifice for the team,” said the Fil-German cager.
Standhardinger did a big share in San Miguel’s victory as he finished with 26 points, six rebounds, three assists, three steals, and two blocks.
He paid tribute to his teammates for his performance.
“It’s just lay-ups so credit to my teammates. I ran hard and I’m happy that they found me. I’m happy to play with those guys,” Standhardinger said.
