CHRISTIAN Standhardinger finally showed up in uniform for San Miguel’s final elimination round assignment against Alaska in the PBA Philippine Cup Sunday.
The sophomore big man entered the game with four minutes left in the first period and the Beermen trailing by 10 points. He immediately made his presence felt by completing a three-point play to cut the deficit at 18-11.
Standhardinger has missed the last five games of the Beermen due to a leg injury.
His return to the active roster however, came as Terrence Romeo sat out the game against the Aces at the Smart Araneta Coliseum due to food poisoning.
The prolific scoring guard was in civilian clothes and sat at the far end of the San Miguel bench during the game.
San Miguel (6-4) has fallen out of the running for a twice-to-beat edge in the quarterfinals after losing to top seed Phoenix, 96-93, in Panabo, Davao last week.
The Beermen are hoping to finish at least as the top three seeded team heading into the playoffs.
