PROOF that he's eager to take his act to the PBA, big man Christian Standhardinger arrived in the country on Saturday night in time for the 2017 rookie draft at the Robinsons Place Manila.
The 27-year-old Fil-German posted a video of him at the Hong Kong airport on the eve of the draft proceedings. "Manila, I'm coming," said a smiling Standhardinger in the short video.
He then wrote the hashtags #Manila #pba #pbadraft2017 #excited #puso.
Standhardinger is the consensus No. 1 overall pick in this year's draft that features 43 other aspirants, but will have to miss the first half of the season to play out his contract with Hong Kong Eastern in the ABL.
San Miguel is expected to tab him with the No. 1 pick the team acquired from KIA in exchange for role players and a future first-round draft pick in a controversial deal approved by Commissioner Chito Narvasa on Friday.
