CHRIS Ross didn’t hide his frustrations towards the controversial finish to Game 1 of the PBA 49th Season Philippine Cup that San Miguel lost.

Taking his thoughts on X (formerly Twitter) last Monday, Ross expressed his frustrations as to why Mo Tautuaa’s dunk in the final seconds of Game 1 was not considered as such.

The Beermen lost, 99-96, in Game 1, but had the lead with 56 seconds left when Tautuaa made a dunk. Following a deadball with six seconds remaining, the PBA technical committee stepped in and nullified Tautuaa’s basket due to a basket interference.

In explaining the reason for the call, PBA deputy commissioner Eric Castro said Tautuaa pulled the rim that merited the reversing the basket.

“Regardless kung may tamaan siya ng ring, the fact na nahila niya ‘yung ring pababa is a violation already. Considered an offensive interference,” said Castro.

A day after Game 1, Ross wanted none of the explanation.

“We don’t want to hear any other explanation on what happened (in Game 1),” Ross wrote on Monday. “Anyone that plays ball knows that it was the wrong call but they will keep trying to explain why they are the only ones in the world that thinks otherwise.

“DELUSIONAL is the word. 1foot in front of the other,” Ross also wrote.

On the morning of the day that Ross wrote his thoughts on X, San Miguel intended to put Game 1 under protest but decided not to push through with it as the PBA technical committee had already explained why the call was made.

Ross and the Beermen will be out to even the series on Wednesday in Game 2 against TNT at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
