CHRIS Lutz said he harbors no ill feelings toward San Miguel Beer for dropping him to the unrestricted free agent market, prompting his move to Meralco.
While admitting he was surprised by the relegation, the veteran wingman said he understands it was a business decision by the Beermen.
"A little bit surprised, but I understand business is business so they got to make decisions whatever they feel what's best for them," Lutz said in a chat with SPIN.ph after Bolts practice on Tuesday where he was introduced to the team.
"I had great memories and great times at San Miguel. I had an awesome time being part of a champion team, he added. "And I wish them nothing but the best."
After spending his first five seasons in the pro league with the SMC organization, Lutz, who hasn't seen action since last year's Commissioner's Cup, welcomed the fresh start for his career.
"I just got to move on, and I'm just blessed to have the opportunity to play again," he said.
After being sidelined by a back injury, Lutz is now recovering from ankle surgery. And he can't wait to get back on the floor with a 'great organization.'
"I wish I was playing already, but it's just great to step in here and just have the opportunity to be on another team and be with a great organization like Meralco," Lutz said.
