MIKEY Williams’ suspension is set to end on Sunday, and TNT head coach Chot Reyes hopes that any issues that led to his ban have been resolved.
Reyes confirmed Williams had lunch with his teammates recently in the middle of the one-week suspension slapped on the Fil-Am guard for missing practice before their game two Sundays ago against Phoenix Super LPG.
Williams apologized to the team during the players-only lunch.

Reyes didn’t go into detail as to what happened during the lunch since he was not part of it, but the TNT coach is positive about the outcome of the meeting.
“His suspension is for one week. That’s going to be until (Sunday) I think. And after that, it’s going to be really up to team manager Jojo Lastimosa. But as far as I know, it’s one week,” said Reyes.
“I know they had lunch together and he spoke to his teammates. So I hope that’s resolved,” Reyes said.
The Tropang GIGA split their two games in Williams' absence, with the ballclub finally breaking a two-game losing skid with a 121-90 win over Terrafirma on Saturday.
Reyes is hopeful the meeting will go a long way in improving the camaraderie of the ballclub as the team moves forward from the issue.
“I think the most important thing is the relationship among the players. The fabric of the team has to remain strong. For me, as far as I’m concerned, Mikey comes back to practice, he works hard, he puts in everything that we ask him, there’s no need for him to apologize to me. The more important thing is he needs to apologize to his teammates,” said Reyes.
“Those are the people that he really put down by his absence. I’m fine. As far as I’m concerned, the most important thing is the team and the players. If they are together, we have to just rebuild the fabric of the team,” said Reyes.
TNT will take a break to give way to the Gilas Pilipinas’ participation in the Fiba Basketball World Cup Asian qualifiers fifth window.
