ASIDE from chiding Kim Aurin last Sunday, TNT coach Chot Reyes was also spotted doing a ‘use your brain’ gesture last Wednesday that was also spotted by the broadcast crew in the ongoing PBA 49th Season Philippine Cup semifinals against Rain or Shine.

The gesture also seen on TV was first directed towards Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser in the 9:28-mark of the third quarter when the TNT big man was called for back-to-back fouls, both of which against Jhonard Clarito.

“That’s the kind of coach I am,” Reyes told reporters after Game 2 when asked about his gesture to Ganuelas-Rosser. “My players know, they will hear it from me directly. That’s the culture that we have on our team. That’s how we communicate.”

In that situation involving BGR, Reyes said it was not smart for the former No. 1 pick to fouls consecutively, within 10 seconds.

“We knew how physical, how hard Rain or Shine is going to come at us. And we said to be smart about it. To be strong, to be physical. To hit when they get it, to hit back but to be smart about it. And I thought we had some not too smart plays. And not only basketball plays, but even the other stuff,” said Reyes.

Reyes was on the spotlight in Game 3 when he was seen furious against Aurin after committing a bad foul with only 0.8 seconds left in the first half, allowing Rain or Shine to get another crack at the basket.

Aside from hurling words against Aurin, Reyes was even seen kicking the LED advertisement board that is located in front of the TNT bench.

TNT eventually lost Game 3, 107-86, but is still up, 2-1, in the best-of-seven semifinal series that now shifts to the Mall of Asia Arena on Wednesday.

The actions of Reyes towards Aurin in Game 3 and Ganuelas-Rosser in Game 2 is expected by the players and he has no plans of changing his ways.

“Direct to the point. We don’t sugarcoat things… If the players can’t take that, then they cannot play on this team if they cannot take that,” said Reyes.
