CHITO Victolero just laughed when asked about his planting a kiss on Mark Barroca's cheek following Magnolia’s dramatic 88-86 win at the buzzer over San Miguel in the PBA Philippine Cup.
The Hotshots mentor said he’s been doing it not only to Barroca but the other Magnolia players especially after a big win just like what the team pulled off on Friday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
“Yes, lagi ko naman ginagawa sa kanya (Barroca) yun,” said Victolero with a big laugh when told about the buss that was caught on camera.
Barroca emerged the biggest hero for the Hotshots, sinking the game-winning basket right at the final buzzer that moved the team on the brink of clinching their first ever All-Filipino championship since 2014.
The veteran guard was adjudged Finals MVP by the PBA Press Corps when Magnolia won the Governors Cup championship last conference.
“I love this guy and I love my players,” said Victolero.
“We just kept on grinding and grinding until this guy made that basket.”
Magnolia goes for the kill on Sunday as Game Six is slated also at the Big Dome starting at 6:30 p.m.
