COMMISSIONER Chito Salud is set to summon Ryan Arana and Enrico Villanueva for figuring in a fistfight during a tune-up game between the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters and the NLEX Warriors last Thursday.
PBA media bureau chief Willie Marcial told Spin.ph the league was able to document the incident as the sanctioned tuneup game was observed by head of referee Boy Cruz, who also acted as the videographer.
“Nakuha namin sa video ang game. Nahuli rin ang nangyari, we are just in Korea for the board meeting then 'yan ang susunod na aasikasuhin ni commissioner once bumalik kami dyan sa Pilipinas,” said Marcial.
The special assistant to the commissioner also bared that Salud has already advised Cruz to splice the video and gather additional information regarding the melee.
“Pina-asikaso na ni commissioner 'yun. Hawak na ni Boy Cruz yung video. At gaya ng dati, papanoorin ni Com 'yung video na 'yun, tapos dun pa lang siya magde-decide kung isa-summon o hindi. Pero malamang i-summon yung mga yun,” he added.
Marcial stressed that it has been the policy of Salud to carefully review and study videos of incidents that need the league’s attention.
“Pag mga ganyang kaso, talagang pinapanood ni Com 'yan with the technical team. Tapos from there, ipapatawag na niya yung mga players na involved. Sanctioned kasi ng PBA ang mga tune-up games,” he added.
“Kailangang i-sanction talaga 'yan. Kasi paano 'pag may mga ganyang pangyayari? Mainam yung nare-regulate ng liga,” stressed Marcial.
Meanwhile, Spin.ph was able to get a copy of the video which clearly showed how the controversial incident transpired before it nearly turned into a full-blown brawl at the sidelines.
