CHICO Lanete’s gruesome eye injury proved to be the only dampener to Barako Bull’s shock 82-79 win over Ginebra in the PBA Philippine Cup on Saturday night at the Mall of Asia Arena.

The skin under the veteran Energy guard’s right eye was left bloodied after a collision with Gin Kings counterpart LA Tenorio in an inbound play late in the game.

“Nasundot pa yung eyeball mismo kaya may maga,” he added.

The 36-year-old Lanete was brought to the nearby San Juan de Dios hospital for observation, with an update expected to be available in 24 hours.

The injury, though, is not considered serious.
