The brother of former PBA player Chris Tiu already showed up in Phoenix's first get-together on Monday since its early ouster in the Philippine Cup.
But Tiu did not conduct his first practice and instead, postponed it to Wednesday.
He becomes the fifth coach of the franchise in the last five years after Louie Alas, Topex Robinson, Jamike Jarin, and Willy Wilson.

Tiu, who also handles the College of St. Benilde Blazers and the Strong Group Athletics team, inherits a young, talented core which unfortunately, failed to reach the playoffs for the fifth straight conference.
The Fuel Masters finished with a 3-8 record in the Philippine Cup behind a roster made up of Tyler Tio, Ricci Rivero, Kai Ballungay, Francis Escandor, Evan Nelle, Kenneth Tuffin, Bryan Santos, James Kwekuteye, Sean Manganti along with veterans Jason Perkins, RR Garcia, and RJ Jazul.
Before taking his first official coaching job in the PBA, Tiu once worked as part of the Meralco and Converge coaching staff.
