AS a fiting tribute to the late great coach Virgilio Baby Dalupan, the PBA will hold a 'final buzzer' in his honor this Sunday.

The special rite honoring the legendary coach who won 15 league championships will be held just before the game between Barangay Ginebra and Rain or Shine at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Four players who once played for the legendary mentor in different eras will do the ceremonial buzzer, namely Atoy Co, Allan Caidic, Alvin Patrimonio, and league commissioner Chito Narvasa.

Co was one of the stars of the fabled Crispa Redmanizers team that won nine championships in Asia's first ever play-for-pay league under Dalupan, including the league's first grand slam in 1976.

Dalupan, 92, was responsible for recruiting Caidic for University of the East where the hot-shooting lefty won two UAAP championships in 1984 and 85. He also served as 'The Triggerman's first coach in the PBA with Great Taste in 1987, at which time the team bagged the All-Filipino title.

Narvasa was part of two NCAA championships with Ateneo in 1974 and 1976 with Dalupan at the helm.
