CONVERGE team governor Archen Cayabyab refuted claims that he is causing disarray at the ballclub with the recent player trades that occurred.
In a statement sent to SPIN.ph on Tuesday, Cayabyab took exception to the assertions made by Snow Badua during his No Cooking Show podcast on Monday night about him that he described as false.
“I categorically deny and strongly reject the outrageous, misleading, and irresponsible statements made by Snow Badua during his live Facebook broadcast on 12 January 2025 at approximately 9:30 p.m., wherein he falsely alleged that I was solely responsible for recent player trades and that I have caused misunderstandings or disarray within the Converge FiberXers organization,” said Cayabyab.

“I take serious offense at Mr. Badua’s reckless assertion that I cause disarray within the team, particularly his flippant and damaging remark that ‘kung ano-ano ang pinaggagawa.’ Such statements are not only baseless but also irresponsible,” he added.
“To put this matter to rest once and for all, I hereby challenge Mr. Badua to present clear, credible, and irrefutable proof to substantiate his allegations. Absent such evidence, his claims remain nothing more than unfounded accusations that unfairly malign my name and integrity,” said Cayabyab.
Cayabyab also said the trades involving Jordan Heading and Juan Gomez de Liaño were done in good faith, and was a collegial decision by the team.
“I have consistently maintained that it was my personal opinion not to pursue the trade involving Heading. However, as with all major decisions affecting the team, the ultimate determination was reached through consensus at the level of upper management. The decision to proceed with the trade was a collective one,” said Cayabyab.

“The underlying reasons for such a move fall within confidential considerations that naturally prevail in professional sports — facts well understood by anyone with actual knowledge of the sports industry. I categorically reject the allegation that I acted unilaterally, without consultation, or without due deference to the upper management of Converge FiberXers, which is owned by Dennis Anthony Uy,” he added.
“With respect to the trade involving Juan Gomez De Liaño, I initiated the preliminary trade discussions with Governor Zorilla and Team Manager Bugia concerning Phoenix’s proposed first-round pick swap — wherein Converge would obtain the No. 2 pick in exchange for the No. 8 pick and Bryan Santos.”
“I am grateful that this initiative was fully supported by Coach and Vice Governor Delta. These actions were undertaken in good faith, through proper channels, and solely for the competitive benefit of the team," said Cayabyab.
Cayabyab reiterated he will continue to act for the benefit of the FiberXers in his role as team governor.
"It is deeply unfortunate that sincere efforts made for the organization are now being unfairly portrayed in a negative light by individuals who seek to diminish — or claim undue credit for — work that was responsibly carried out for the team’s best interests,” said Cayabyab.
“Finally, I emphasize that I reserve all my rights under the law and do not waive my option to pursue any and all appropriate legal remedies against Mr. Snow Badua for the statements he has made.
“I have always acted — and will continue to act — in good faith, with professionalism, and with the singular objective of advancing the welfare and success of the Converge FiberXers organization,” said Cayabyab.
