JAYSON Castro is expected to miss the rest of the season or even beyond following the injury he sustained on Friday in Game 2 of the PBA 49th Season Commissioner's Cup semifinals.
TNT team manager Jojo Lastimosa said the initial prognosis by their doctors based from the MRI showed that Castro may have sustained a full thickness patellar tendon tear in his right knee.
Online resources state that a patellar tendon tear would take six to 12 months to recover depending on its severity.
Castro suffered the injury on Friday after an off-balanced layup with three minutes left in the Tropang Giga's game against Rain or Shine. He then had to be brought to the hospital on a stretcher.
