TNT is making some roster changes in a bid to boost its campaign for a playoffs berth in the PBA Governors’ Cup, where it is the defending champion.
Going to the team’s 7:30 p.m. match against Terrafirma when the final conference of Season 50 resumes on Wednesday at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium, the Tropang 5G have activated new import Nick Hornsby and veteran guard Jayson Castro.
Hornsby will take over the place pf Rahlir Hollis-Jefferson, while Castro trades places with big man Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser, who has been relegated to the injury list.
New acquisition Jeo Ambohot also made it to the active roster of TNT after being signed recently for the rest of the season.
The former NCAA Finals MVP from Letran is replacing shooting wingman Kevin Ferrer, while rookie big man Joe Celzo has also been elevated to the regular roster in favor of veteran Poy Erram.
Both Erram and Ferrer were relegated by the team to the Unrestricted Free Agent List (with rights to salary), but with prior agreement that they won’t sign up with other ballclubs, according to team manager Jojo Lastimosa.
The Tropang 5G sports an even 4-4 record.
