CARL Jammes Martin gets to showcase his talent before a huge boxing Sunday crowd when he faces former world title challenger David Picasso in the undercard of the Canelo Alvarez-Christian Mbilli for the WBC super-middleweight crown in Saudi Arabia.
The 10-round bout at featherweight is set at the Riyadh Kingdom Arena.
It’s the biggest US exposure so far for the undefeated, 27-year-old Ifugao as his previous fight in Nevada Las Vegas a year ago was just a special attraction opposite Francisco Pedroza Portillo during the PBC Fight Night event.
Martin, who carries a 28-0 record with 21 KOs, vows to make the most of the opportunity.
But Picasso is expected to be a tough customer for the Filipino.
The 26-year-old Mexican is barely a year removed from his title fight loss against undisputed champion Naoya Inoue for the world super-bantamweight championship.
Picasso lost to the undefeated Japanese sensation via a unanimous decision for the first defeat of his pro career (33-1-1 with 18 KOs).
He has since bounced back from the loss after a second round TKO of Colombian Maicol Rincon in Mexico two months ago.
The Mexican said he’s looking to win over Martin by way of knockout.
Picasso tipped in at 125.8lbs during the official weigh-in Friday, while Martin came at exactly 126lbs.
