KEITH Zaldivar of Converge, Jerrick Ahanmisi of Magnolia, and Andrei Caracut of Rain or Shine lead the players that made it to the Rookies, Sophomores, and Juniors game in the PBA All-Star Bacolod 2024.
Zaldivar, Ahanmisi, and Caracut were the top three players who got the most votes from fans during the balloting period that ended on February 7.
Zaldivar surprisingly got the most votes after only playing for two games with Converge in the Commissioner’s Cup. The former Adamson cager spent his rookie year with Magnolia during the 2022-23 season.
A current Hotshots player in Ahanmisi was the second leading vote-getter in the polls to earn a place in the RSJ contest.
Caracut was third on the list following his best conference with Rain or Shine in his career after averaging 14.7 points with the Elasto Painters in the Commissioner’s Cup.
Caracut is one of the six players from Rain or Shine who clinched a ticket to Bacolod to for the RSJ game, the most by any other team in the league.
But unlike in the All-Star Game, the assistant coaches of Tim Cone and Jorge Gallent, the top two vote-getters during the fan voting, will choose who will comprise the members of each teams in the RSJ Game, instead of the top two players who got the most number of votes from fans.
Justin Arana of Converge, Kyt Jimenez of San Miguel, Shaun Ildefonso of Rain or Shine, Keith Datu of Rain or Shine, James Laput of Magnolia, Gian Mamuyac of Rain or Shine, Javi Gomez De Liano of Terrafirma, Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser of NLEX, John Amores of NorthPort, Santi Santillan of Rain or Shine, Fran Yu of NorthPort, Stephen Holt of Terrafirma, Anton Asistio of Rain or Shine, Ralph Cu of Barangay Ginebra, RK Ilagan of Blackwater, and Kim Aurin of TNT made it to the RSJ contest through the fan voting.
Joshua Munzon of NorthPort, Kenneth Tuffin of Phoenix Super LPG, Alec Stockton of Converge, and JM Calma of NorthPort were picked to join the RSJ match by coaches and media.
