Cameron Clark, Kobe Lam, Glen Yang banner HK Eastern in PBA guest stint

FAMILIAR faces will be back when the Hong Kong Eastern competes in the PBA Commissioner's Cup.

Cameron Clark is reinforcing the Hong Kong-based franchise that serves as foreign guest team in the mid-season tournament that kicks off on Nov. 27.

Also included in the Hong Kong Eastern roster are Kobey Lam and Glen Yang.

Clark suited up as import to NLEX and San Miguel in the 2022 and 2023 editions of the Governors' Cup.

In both times, he helped the Road Warriors and Beermen reach the semifinals.

The 6-foot-7 Clark was even considered by the Beermen as a replacement import after Jordan Adams went down with a hamstring injury.

    But Hong Kong Eastern beat San Miguel to the draw after signing the 33-year-old product of Oklahoma for the season.

    “We tried Cam, but he already decided to play for Hong Kong,” said coach Jorge Gallent, who later opted for Nigeria men’s national team member EJ Anosike.

    Meanwhile, Lam and Yang were both key players of the defunct Bay Area Dragons which lost to Barangay Ginebra in their winner-take-all game for the Season 47 Commissioner's Cup title.

    The Bay Area Dragons celebrate the come-from-behind win over the San Miguel Beermen.

    The Game 7 of the same finals reset the PBA's all-time record crowd to watch a game live with 54,589.

    Lam last played for the Vanta Black Dragons in The Asian Tournament prior to hooking up with Hong Kong Eastern.

    “If given the option, I will play,” said Lam when asked about playing in the PBA again as part of a guest team during his stint the grand finals of TAT last August in Zamboanga City.

    “One year after playing in Manila and coming back here to play again feels like home,” added the former Bay Area guard caught the eyes of basketball fans during his six months stay here together with the rest of the team.

    “Manila is home. Philippines is home. The Philippines took care of us very well.”

    As per arrangement with the PBA, the guest team won't be having home games this season, and will play all of its games in Manila.

    Hong Kong Eastern is also currently seeing action in Season 2 of the EASL Home and Away meet.

    The team lost in its EASL debut game against reigning B.League champions Hiroshima Dragonflies, 78-67.
