    Abueva suspended indefinitely, fined P70K for clothesline, lewd gestures

    CALVIN Abueva of Phoenix Pulse has been suspended indefinitely by the PBA and fined P70,000 for two separate incidents recently in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup.

    Abueva has been slapped with the penalty after being summoned by PBA commissioner Willie Marcial on Tuesday.

    Abueva was given a P50,000 penalty for the clothesline against TNT import Terrence Jones last Sunday that merited a flagrant foul two.

    Abueva has also been given a P20,000 fine for a verbal altercation and obscene gestures against a fan, Bobby Ray Parks Jr.’s girlfriend Maika Rivera last Friday against Blackwater.

      Phoenix Pulse coach Louie Alas, meanwhile, was also suspended for two games and fined P40,000 for engaging into a physical encounter against a player on Sunday.

      Alas was also fined P20,000 after a flagrant misconduct for physically contacting TNT cager David Semerad, and P20,000 for issuing statements detrimental to the league.

      Other players were not spared from fines.

      Jones was slapped with a P70,000 fine for two separate incidents. A P50,000 fine was given to Jones for hitting Abueva in the groin area, the incident that led to Abueva’s ejection, and a P20,000 penalty for physically contacting a referee.

      TNT consultant Mark Dickel was fined a total of P21,000 for throwing the ball at a referee and disrespectfully addressing a game official.

      David Semerad and Anthony Semerad of TNT were fined P20,000 each for their involvement in the scuffle that occurred early in the first quarter of the game between TNT and Phoenix Pulse.

      TNT assistant team manager Miguel Fernandez was find P10,000 for approaching the technical table.

      Don Trollano of TNT and Alex Mallari of Phoenix Pulse were slapped with a P5,000 fine.

      Phoenix import Rob Dozier and Jason Perkins were fined P1,000 each for their technical foul for second motion and verbal altercation respectivey.

      Referee Bing Oliva was also suspended for 10 playing game days for missing Jones’ hit on Abueva to the groin.
