CALVIN Abueva could be in line for his season debut on Saturday in Magnolia’s next game against Converge in the PBA Season 48 Commissioner’s Cup.
Head coach Chito Victolero said Abueva has participated in full practice after he suffered a calf injury during the conference, and is only awaiting full clearance from the team’s physical therapist for his first taste of action this season.

Abueva sat out the early stages of the conference after undergoing a procedure to remove hemorrhoids and his comeback was set back by the calf injury.
“There’s a probability that he will play on Saturday,” said Victolero on Wednesday following Magnolia’s 104-91 win over Terrafirma. “We will decide. If the PT approves na maglalaro siya, he will play on Saturday.”
The 35-year-old Abueva is fresh from signing a new three-year contract with Magnolia despite being out for the team this conference.
With Abueva on the bench, Magnolia recorded an 8-1 win-loss slate including a seven-game winning streak to begin the Commissioner’s Cup.
