THE Games and Amusements Board (GAB) has reached a decision to reinstate the professional basketball license of Phoenix Super LPG star Calvin Abueva after he completes two more requirements from the government body.
GAB chairman Baham Mitra said Abueva will need to undergo a seminar on The Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards of a Professional Athlete and sign that he will abide by it.
Mitra also said Abueva will also have to undergo a drug test, a mandatory medical requirement by GAB on all professional athletes in the Philippines.
The decision was made after Abueva had a dialogue with GAB before entering the bubble in Clark, Pampanga.
“Calvin Abueva was remorseful in what he did and was sincere enough to accept his wrongdoings and asked for an apology for his actions with a promise not to repeat the same mistakes and set a good example to the audience especially the young fans,” said Mitra.

It now appears that Abueva is moving closer and closer to getting his indefinite suspension in the PBA now on its 15th month to be lifted.
The GAB license is a requirement for all athletes to be able to play in a professional league such as the PBA.
