AN argument between Calvin Abueva, Mo Tautuaa, and their wives occurred minutes after Game Two of the PBA 48th Season Commissioner’s Cup finals between San Miguel and Magnolia on Sunday.
Abueva and his wife were spotted attempting to confront Tautuaa and his wife at the SM Mall of Asia Arena hallway before coaches and security stepped in to prevent the incident from blowing up.
Abueva dares Tautuaa to a fight
Abueva even challenged Tautuaa, his former teammate during their build-up with Gilas Pilipinas in the Asian Games, to a fight during the fracas.
In a post on X/Twitter, Tautuaa’s wife Aida said the incident began when she was on her way to the restroom when Abueva, she claimed, smirked at him.
“I had to walk past him to go to the restroom. He smirked at me, nodded his head up and down and said, “yeaaa” laughing,” wrote Tautuaa’s wife.
“I said ‘wtf is wrong with you’ and kept walking. He walked after me and literally got in my face,” said Aida.
Abueva denied he smirked at her, and even claimed that it was Tautuaa’s wife who was disrespectful when he was on his way out of the Mall of Asia Arena.
“Dumaan siya dito, hinihintay ako anak ko, and then sabi niya ‘what the f*** are you smiling. Sino siya para ii-smile ko siya,” said Abueva.
“Bakit niya ako ginanun? Hinihintay ko asawa ko tapos gaganun niya ako,” said Abueva.
Abueva also has a spat with Gallent
Incidentally, Abueva was called for a deliberate foul on Tautuaa early in the fourth quarter. He was called for a technical foul shortly upon his return to the bench for a verbal exchange with San Miguel coach Jorge Gallent, who was also slapped with a technical foul.
The incident occurred after Game Two where San Miguel defeated Magnolia, 109-85, to give the Beermen a 2-0 lead in the finals series.
