WHO says everything is bad vibes with Calvin Abueva these days?
The controversial cager showed a good side of his by spending time teaching teenage kids at a small basketball clinic in Pampanga.
Dubbed ‘Delta Basketball Training Camp,’ the clinic is named after current Pampanga Governor Dennis ‘Delta’ Pineda, who is the man behind the project.
Pineda serves as Abueva’s long-time manager while Atty. Charlie Chua, also the lawyer of the governor, stands as his current agent.
Abueva is staying with his family in Pampanga right now after reportedly separating with his wife following their highly-publicized social media spat last month.
The separation couldn’t have come at the worse time for the 31-year-old Phoenix forward, who remains under indefinite suspension by the PBA following his clothesline incident against TnT Katropa import Terrence Jones.
While under suspension, Abueva got himself in an even deeper hole by playing in a ‘ligang labas’ in Montalban, Rizal without the permission of his mother ballclub.
Asked if the Angeles City native had asked for the consent of Phoenix management regarding his basketball camp in Pampanga, team manager Paolo Bugia said ‘The Beast’ doesn’t have to.
“No need, outreach naman niya sa sarili niya yan,” said Bugia when reached out by SPIN.ph. “I think it’s better din for him to do such worthy endeavor while he remains under suspension.”
