CALVIN Abueva was fined P20,000 for his rant against officiating in Converge's loss to Barangay Ginebra on Sunday in the PBA 50th Season Commissioner's Cup.
The punishment was determined after the PBA Commissioner's Office summoned Abueva on Monday for shouting “Paldo referee” and “Apat silang paldo” to express his dismay over the officiating of the match that the FiberXers lost, 99-93.

No suspension was meted but Abueva will still be made to pay for the comments that he uttered while he was on his way back to the Converge dugout, which were caught on video by reporters covering the PBA beat.
"Such a malicious and unfounded accusation against our referees cannot go unpunished," Marcial said in the letter to Abueva. "Your irresponsible statement is tantamount to conduct detrimental to the best interest of the league."
Sources said Abueva was both apologetic and emotional in his appearance before Commissioner Willie Marcial on Monday.
