CALVIN Abueva’s family may be having problems, but it's not about their health.
The Alaska star on Thursday moved to once and for all shoot down rumors that one of his four kids is suffering from leukemia - a gossip that has festered online since Abueva started skipping practices last month.
Take a look at this comment on social media:
Abueva, however, said there was no truth to the rumors.
“Walang leukemia,” Abueva told SPIN.ph over the phone n Thursday, a day after their 93-75 win over Phoenix in the PBA Philippine Cup on his return to the Aces' lineup.
“May family problem kami, pero walang nagkasakit sa mga anak ko. Healthy lahat anak ko,” the former NCAA MVP out of San Sebastian added.
To prove his point, Abueva sent a screenshot to SPIN.ph of a photo posted on social by his wife showing how healthy their boys are, while enjoying a fastfood meal.
The caption read: “Mukha bang nasa hospital kami?”
Instead, Abueva hinted after their game against the Fuel Masters that the 'family issue' he cited when he missed Alaska and Gilas practice concerned his relationship with wife Sam.
Abueva, though, looked a lot happier on Wednesday when he showed up with a new jersey number (88) and punished Phoenix with 21 points, 14 boards, four steals, one assist, and one block in just 25 minutes off the bench.
Later, he labelled himself 'The Beast 2.0' and declared that his problems were over.
