CALVIN Abueva confirmed on Saturday that he received an offer to play in the Japanese B.League, but said he's not biting - yet.

Hours after posting a message about an offer from a Japan team on his Instagram page, the controversial PBA player bared that an offer from one of the B.League teams was relayed to him by an agent/ friend.

“May alok ako, tinext ako nung kaibigan kong agent. Hinahanap nga raw ako sa kanya ng isang Japanese team,” said Abueva, who declined to identify the agent or the team that he said wants to approach him.

The offer came just days after college star Thirdy Ravena announced that he has accepted an offer to play for San-En NeoPhoenix in the four-year old B. League.

Unlike Ravena, Abueva isn't inclined to accept the offer, even if he remains suspended indefinitely in the PBA.

His contract with Phoenix is also set to expire soon.

“Sa ngayon, hindi ko pa masyado nahaharap kasi may contract pa ko, saka kung ako masusunod gusto ko muna ayusin yung sa PBA," said the former PBA Rookie of the Year awardee. "Yun naman talaga ang gusto natin."

Abueva revealed that even before he was drafted second overall by Alaska in the PBA back in 2012, he was already receiving offers from different Asian teams.

“May mga alok sa kin dati, marami. Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Thailand, iba-iba. Pero hindi ko nga yun pinansin kasi that time gusto ko maglaro sa PBA. Yun yung dream ko kahit nung simula pa lang,” he said.

But since his playing status remains uncertain, Abueva stressed that if he cannot get back to play in the PBA, he just might consider the offers.

"Eh, syempre lagi mo uunahin yung kapakanan ng pamilya mo. Pag talagang walang nangyari, baka consider ko rin yun. Kasi hindi naman na tayo bumabata,” said the former NCAA MVP out of San Sebastian.

"Ang sa kin lang, mas gusto ko sa PBA. Ito naman lagi ang first option ko ever since. Pero kung wala pa rin, syempre baka humanap na muna tayo ng iba,” added the 32 year old.

As of the moment, Abueva is staying busy tending to his 'Dampa ni The Beast' restaurant.
