RAIN or Shine coach Caloy Garcia has been fined by the league after he was ejected in Game Four of the PBA Philippine Cup semifinals.
Garcia was penalized with a P22,400 fine for two infractions – P20,000 for physical contact with referee Peter Balao and P2,400 for using profane language – in the Elastopainters’ 94-91 loss to Magnolia Monday.
Also slapped with fines were Rain or Shine’s Beau Belga, who was penalized with P3,400 for his fourth technical foul of the conference, and Gabe Norwood, who was slapped with a P1,000 fine for pointing an accusing finger at a referee.
Meanwhile, Calvin Abueva of Phoenix Pulse was also fined P3,400 for incurring his fourth technical foul of the conference last Sunday in Game Three of the semifinal series against San Miguel.
Matthew Wright was also penalized P5,000 for a flagrant foul one last Sunday.
