MANY are resigned to the fact that officiating in the PBA sucks.

As I have said time and again - the officiating in the pro league has been consistently inconsistent.

If you see a top team official of Ginebra San Miguel, which belongs to the perceived 'sacred organization' in the PBA, protesting vehemently over a bungled out-of-bounds call - then we really have a big problem.

To think that it was the most basic of calls which in this day and age is considered a 'can't miss' call. Yet the PBA referees found a way to call it wrong.

Now, will suspending the one referee who erred in that particular play be enough?

I say - NO. A suspension is never enough.

Instead of going to the press and announcing yet another suspension on the men in gray, it is high time the PBA, which spends a hefty sum to maintain its pool of referees, reviews its philosophy on officiating and administration of the game.

No amount of suspensions can remedy the confusion, miscommunication, and favoritism that PBA fans perceive to be prevalent in the pro league.
