CAGAYAN Valley forward Jason Melano has been slapped with a two-game suspension and a P10,000 fine for punching Jumbo Plastic Linoleum's Jan Colina after their PBA D-League Foundation Cup match on Tuesday.
The PBA Commissioner's Office handed out the punishment to Melano after a review of the game tape, according to the league's media bureau chief Willy Marcial.
Melano was sanctioned for punching Colina moments after the Rising Suns' 64-70 loss to the Giants. He was later seen running away from the scene and into his team's dugout at the JCSGO gym in Quezon City.
Melano will miss Cagayan Valley's elimination round games against Blackwater Sports on Monday and Cafe France on May 5.
Just last conference, the Rising Suns had one of their team staff suspended for 10 games for a racial gesture against NLEX center Ola Adeogun.
