Coach Yeng Guiao makes good on his promises, and this one is no exception.
After Rain or Shine's practice on Saturday morning, Guiao will treat the entire team, led by the beefy pair of Beau Belga and JR Quinahan, to a hearty lunch at his hard-working forward Ronnie Matias’ humble bulalohan in Manila.
No wonder Matias’ wife, Jheda, was busy sprucing up their small eatery in Sampaloc, Manila and supervising the construction of a perimeter fence to prepare for the arrival of the tall and mostly wide-bodied Elastopainters when Spin.ph talked to her on Friday.
Of course, she made sure there would be enough rice for the Painters' 'Extra Rice' pair of Belga and Quinahan, who are well-known for their big appetite.
Mrs. Matias, however, said Guiao had promised to take the entire team to their eatery during the team's run to the Governors Cup championship last season.
The Elasto Painters fell a win short of the target, but eventually ended as the champions.
“Ayun tinutupad ni coach yung pangako niya,” said Mrs. Matias.
