NORTHPORT is set to parade defense specialist Prince Ibeh as import for the 2019 PBA Commissioner's Cup later this month.
Batang Pier team manager Bonnie Tan confirmed the hiring of the 24-year-old bruiser, who spent four years with the Texas Longhorns before going undrafted in the 2016 NBA Draft.
Ibeh arrived to the country early Thursday morning.
He saw action in the Summer League teams of the Milwaukee Bucks and the Brooklyn Nets, and also played for two seasons in the NBA G-League with the Long Island Nets.
The 6-foot-9 Ibeh last played for the Yokohama B-Corsairs in the Japanese B.League, where he averaged 4.6 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 2.6 blocks in the 19 games he played.
Ibeh will be huge shot in the arm for NorthPort's undersized frontcourt, which has relied mostly on Sean Anthony, Mo Tautuaa, and Bradwyn Guinto, as well as youngstersJoseph Gabayni and Lervin Flores.
