EVAN Brock is set to don the San Miguel Beermen jersey in the ABL after his aborted stint with Barako Bull as the two sides work to hammer out a deal before the Sunday deadline for changes in the lineup ahead of the playoffs.
A source said Brock has already met San Miguel officials who, in turn, have offered the former Indonesia Warriors import a short-term contract until June as a replacement for either Brian or Justin Williams.
At the same time, the source said San Miguel officials have already polled the players on who between Brian and Justin they intend to keep, with the longer-tenured Williams reportedly getting the nod.
However, that may still change as the coaching staff has one final chance to see the two Williams in action together on Saturday when the Beermen play the Singapore Slingers at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
Dropping one of the Williamses, however, should be a tough decision considering the Beermen have won three games since the two teamed up.
The Beermen, 9-3 (win-loss), have won their last six games overall.
Asked why San Miguel still finds the need to change imports at a time when the team is going great guns, the source said: "“Kailangan lang magsiguro.”
