ROBERT Bolick became the first of the PBA Rookie Class of 2018 to sign a contract on Tuesday.
NorthPort didn't waste any time welcoming the former San Beda hotshot to the Batang Pier family by immediately signing him to a two-year deal.
The signing was made in the presence of Bolick, his manager Marvin Espiritu of EMBM, Batang Pier manager Bonnie Tan, and assistant manager Waiyip Chong.
The contract was signed just two days after the team picked Bolick as the No. 3 overall pick in Sunday's rookie draft behind Columbian's CJ Perez and Blackwater's Ray Parks, who is bound for TNT KaTropa under the terms of a three-team deal.
The deal meant Bolick will receive the rookie maximum salary of P150,000 on the first year and P220,000 on the second year.
Other terms of the deal weren't divulged.
"Robert Bolick is a great addition to the NorthPort Batang Pier team. With his positivity and winning attitude, what he did in his collegiate career is something you can expect he'll bring into our team," said Tan.
The 23-year-old guard, who won three championships with San Beda in the NCAA and a UAAP title with La Salle, said he's looking forward of playing alongside Stanley Pringle now that he's formally a Batang Pier.
"He's a great player and one of the best hindi lang sa PBA but also in Asia. I am really excited playing together with him," said Bolick.
